GALE
ARRIVES IN MIAMI
Gale
arrived in Miami on Tuesday, December 5. She phoned Peter Hartoft
of Hartoft Marine Survey about 10:15 AM and he reported she was
lying off Government Cut, the entrance to Biscayne Bay, waiting
for the tow to Consolidated Yacht Company, www.consolidatedyacht.com,
on the Miami River. It was a good trip with the roughest conditions
off Moorehead City, NC, and Point Lookout. More news to follow after
she gets the boat docked and cleaned up--and probably takes a nap!
SPONSORSHIP
While
negotiations proceed for the title and secondary major sponsors,
there are other sponsorship opportunities available which offer
name/logo signage on the hull and cabin house and other publicity
benefits. These spots are value priced and offer a lot of "bang
for the buck" for a firm interested in international exposure through
a consumer attractive medium. If you want to convey images of high-tech
and state of the art equipment, high performance, endurance, thorough
preparation, fitness, athleticism, and international teamwork, consider
Gale's 2001 Mini-Transat campaign. For the US market, add in the
natural empathy for an American woman competing in an event traditionally
dominated by French & British men...
The
Mini-Transat race is featured prominently on TV, radio & print in
Europe and our press relations team ensures that the sponsors are
featured in all news releases and shore-side promotional activities.
Locally, Marty Bass and Don Scottof WJZ TV interviewed Gale on the
Morning Show with the boat--and its graphics & signage--featured
on regional TV. Spinsheet Magazine, www.spinsheet.com, has continuing
coverage of Gale's campaign as well as The Capital newspaper, Soundings,
Sailing World, and other nautical publications. Sponsors are featured
on the website with links to the corporate web page. To investigate
the benefits of sponsorship, contact Cheryl
Jersey at Jersey & Associates.
WEBSITE
We
have photos & tape of her departure and hope to have them on the
website within a few days. Elvia Thompson of Stellar
Presentations, Inc. has redesigned the site and it is being
hosted by Annapolis firm Systematic
Solutions. There are some great photos of Gale & the boat by
John Bildahl. Take a look!
