Gale
Browning of Annapolis, Maryland, sailed single-handed in the Mini-Transat
race from La Rochelle, France, to Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, aboard
a 21-foot sloop. She was the only American woman to do so and the only
US skipper entered in the 2001 MiniTransat. Gale is seeking to expand
public awareness of her campaign and garner additional support.
